The National Construction Authority (NCA) is a government organization that regulates, streamlines, and builds capacity in the construction industry. The Authority is seeking to recruit a Manager for Construction Development and Coordination with a focus on Accreditation and Certification. This role is responsible for overseeing the accreditation of skilled construction workers and site supervisors, ensuring that the industry maintains high standards and regulatory compliance.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Coordinating the development, implementation, and review of policies, strategies, legislations, guidelines, frameworks, and programs on accreditation and certification.\n- Providing consultancy and advisory services regarding accreditation and certification.\n- Spearheading the development and review of evaluation criteria for the accreditation of skilled construction workers and site supervisors.\n- Evaluating applications for accreditation of skilled construction workers and site supervisors.\n- Coordinating the review of criteria for determination of fees or other applicable charges relating to accreditation.\n- Advising on mitigating measures for addressing risks and ensuring business continuity plans are operational.\n- Initiating and implementing Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) within the department.\n- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and promoting a corporate culture of ethical practice and good citizenship.\n- Managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing departmental staff.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\n- Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years’ work experience, with at least three (3) years at the grade of Assistant Manager, Construction Development and Coordination or in a comparable position.\n- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution.\n- Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Administration, or Project Planning and Management.\n- Membership in the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK), Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK), or Institution of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) in good standing.\n- Registration as a professional with the Board of Registration of Architects & Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS) or the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).\n- Possession of a valid professional practicing license.\n- Certificate in a leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.\n- Proficiency in computer applications.\n- Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance.\n- Thorough understanding of national goals, policies, and the NCA’s mandate.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested applicants should submit their applications through the authority’s recruitment portal: https://recruitment.nca.go.ke AND send an electronically signed application letter and detailed curriculum vitae to recruitment@nca.go.ke with the Reference and position applied for as the subject.
