Role Overview
Victory Farms is seeking experienced and responsible Long-Haul Drivers to safely and efficiently transport fresh fish and other company goods across our logistics centers in Kenya. The role involves ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining product quality, complying with road safety and regulatory standards, and supporting a seamless and efficient supply chain.
Roles & Responsibilities
Logistics & Transport: Transport fresh fish, inputs, and other company goods across Victory Farms’ logistics centers in Kenya.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards. Promptly report mechanical faults, damages, accidents, or safety concerns and adhere to scheduled repair and maintenance plans.
Product Quality: Maintain cold-chain integrity and ensure proper handling of perishable products during transit.
Route Planning: Plan and adjust travel routes using approved navigation tools such as Google Maps to avoid delays and ensure on-time delivery.
Asset Management: Ensure assigned vehicles are adequately fueled, clean, and operational at all times. Safeguard company assets, cargo, and equipment during transit.
Operations Support: Assist with the safe loading and offloading of goods while following proper handling procedures.
Documentation: Accurately complete all delivery documentation, including trip logs, fuel records, and inspection reports.
Safety & Compliance: Comply with all traffic laws, NTSA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures. Practice defensive driving techniques and uphold high safety standards at all times. Support emergency response procedures in case of breakdowns or accidents.
Communication: Maintain regular communication with the logistics and dispatch teams regarding trip progress, delays, or incidents.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: Minimum high school diploma; a Diploma or higher qualification is an added advantage.
Licensing: Valid Driving License (minimum Class CE).
Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in long-haul or commercial driving.
Knowledge: Clean driving record with strong knowledge of Kenyan road networks and regulations. Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
Tech Savvy: Proficiency in using navigation tools (Google Maps or similar applications).
Personal Attributes: Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
Flexibility: Willingness to travel long distances and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when required.
