Locum Nurse

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing services to all patients to assist them regain good health.
• Participate in ward rounds and writing ward reports.
• Prepares specific ward reports and timely submit the same.
• Carry out nursing care plan.
• Maintaining intravenous IV fluids.
• Carry out blood transfusion.
• Monitor and deliver mothers in labour, receiving and resuscitating babies.
• Order and administer drugs.
• Assist in the theatre.
• Recruit new clients for MCH/FP and give health talks and training to patients and clients.
• Provides Family Planning Services and Child Welfare Clinics.
• Counselling of patients.
• Follow and maintain antiseptic technique and ensure infection prevention SOPs are followed.
• Instrument cleaning/sluicing and sterilization/autoclaving.
• Cleaning and dressing of wounds, removal of stitches.
• Writing down patients diets and ensuring the same is followed.
• Nursing patients on transit to referral hospitals and ensure the same are procedurally admitted to hospitals.
• Prepares specific ward reports and timely submit the same.
• Carry out preventative medicine from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN).
• Must be registered in the Nursing Council of Kenya and possess a valid license.
• Minimum of two years working experience in a related field.
