Role Overview
Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) is seeking two (2) Locum Health Records & Information Officers. The primary purpose of this role is to manage and analyze patient health records by accurately collecting, updating, coding, and compiling data to support effective healthcare services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyzing health records data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Capturing data from various service points within the hospital.
Disseminating health information to relevant departments.
Updating patient records and information in the hospital systems.
Gathering data from different sources and service points for reporting.
Coding and indexing of records, diseases, and surgical procedures according to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and other procedures in medicine.
Maintaining the patients' master index and diagnostic/surgical indices.
Compiling medical statistics and preparing health records and reports for management.
Key Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Health Records and Information Management or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Registered member of the Association of Medical Records Officers-Kenya (AMRO-K).
Possession of a valid practice license.
Proficiency in computer applications and data management software.
