Taita Taveta University (TTU) is a young dynamic fully fledged newly chartered public University in Kenya. It is strategically located near Voi Town, about 8 kilometers off the Mombasa-Nairobi highway in Taita Taveta County. It is an Academic Centre of Excellence with a special focus on Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering. The University is seeking to recruit a qualified individual for the position of Library Attendant I.
Responsibilities
While specific duties are not exhaustive in the advertisement, the role typically involves:
Assisting library users in locating and using information resources effectively.
Maintaining the order and arrangement of books and other library materials through shelving and filing.
Assisting in circulation desk activities including issuing and receiving library materials.
Maintaining a quiet and conducive study environment within the library.
Assisting in basic administrative tasks within the library department.
Ensuring the safety and security of library collections and property.
Requirements
Must possess a KCSE Certificate.
Must hold a Certificate in Library and Information Studies.
At least three (3) years’ experience as Library Attendant II or in a comparable position.
Demonstrated exemplary work performance.
Possession of a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Terms of Service
The position is on Permanent and Pensionable Terms.
The successful candidate will be entitled to applicable allowances as approved by the University Council.
