Job Description

Role Overview

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) is seeking qualified Part-Time Lecturers in Tourism Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, developing learning materials, evaluating student progress, and contributing to curriculum development to ensure high-quality education delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching: Instruct undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, delivering course content in accordance with curriculum objectives.
Preparation: Develop learning and teaching materials to enhance content delivery and achieve course objectives.
Evaluation: Assess and improve teaching models to maintain educational quality. Set, moderate, invigilate, and mark examinations.
Curriculum Development: Interpret and synthesize curriculum content. Identify content gaps and conduct needs assessments to produce competent graduates.

Qualifications and Requirements

Academic Credentials: PhD or Master's degree in Tourism Management or a related field from a recognized academic institution. (Master's holders registered for a PhD may be considered).
Experience: At least two (2) years of university-level teaching experience, or equivalent industry experience recognized by the JOOUST Senate.
Competence: Demonstrated potential for university teaching and/or research.
Professional Affiliation: Registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
