Taita Taveta University (TTU), a young dynamic public university in Kenya and an Academic Centre of Excellence, is seeking qualified and experienced academics to fill positions in Sports/Physical Education at the levels of Lecturer and Senior Lecturer. The University is located near Voi Town in Taita Taveta County and maintains a special focus on Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering while expanding its academic excellence across various fields.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality instruction and academic leadership in Sports and Physical Education.
Conduct and publish impactful research in refereed scholarly journals.
Supervise postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) through to completion of their degrees.
Participate in curriculum development and implementation.
Contribute to the University's community outreach and administrative functions.
Mentor junior staff and students within the department.
Position Specific Requirements
Lecturer (Grade 12)
Must have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Sports/Physical Education or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Senior Lecturer (Grade 13)
Must have an earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in Sports/Physical Education or a relevant field from an accredited and recognized University.
At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer OR six (6) years of research/industry experience.
A minimum of four (4) articles in refereed journals or a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer (or equivalent), of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed scholarly journals.
Successful supervision of at least three (3) postgraduate students at either Masters or PhD level to completion as a Lecturer or equivalent.
Must be registered with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Terms of Service
The terms of service for these positions are on Permanent and Pensionable Terms.
Successful candidates will be entitled to applicable allowances as approved by the University Council.
