Lecturer - Physical Geography

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Lecturer in Physical Geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality academic instruction to undergraduate and postgraduate students, developing effective teaching materials, and ensuring the overall academic growth of the students.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n* Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate students in the field of Physical Geography.\n* Prepare learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achievement of the objectives of the course.\n* Deliver course content to students through lectures, ensuring that they follow the curriculum objectives.\n* Evaluate delivery models and make appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning. Interpret curriculum in a bid to synthesize the content and disseminate the same to the learners.\n* Set, moderate, invigilate, and mark examinations.\n* Carry out needs assessments for the curriculum; identify content gaps in order to produce competent graduates.\n\n### Requirements\n* Hold a PhD or a Master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution.\n* Possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.\n* Served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.\n* Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.\n* At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a university.\n* Master's holders registered for a PhD may be considered.\n* Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
