Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Lecturer - Philosophy (Ref: DeKUT/IGS/2/2026).
Role Overview
The Lecturer in Philosophy will be responsible for university-level teaching, engaging in scholarly research, developing curriculum, and providing academic mentorship within core and specialized philosophical fields.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
PhD in Philosophy from a recognized university.
Minimum of 24 publication points, of which 16 should be from refereed journal papers.
Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
Additional Requirements
Demonstrated teaching ability at university level.
Evidence of scholarly works or research potential in Philosophy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collegially in a diverse academic environment.
Specialisation in core philosophical areas.
Experience with curriculum development, e-learning platforms, and innovative teaching methods including AI.
Specialization or interdisciplinary knowledge in Philosophy of Mind and Cognitive Science.
Mentorship and leadership qualities.
