Job Description
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) is seeking qualified and experienced individuals for Part-Time Academic positions as Lecturers in Operations Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, curriculum delivery, and student evaluations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Content Delivery: Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. Deliver course content through lectures, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives.
Material Preparation: Prepare learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achievement of course objectives.
Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate delivery models and make appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning.
Examinations: Interpret curriculum to synthesize and disseminate content. Set, moderate, invigilate, and mark examinations.
Curriculum Development: Carry out needs assessments for curriculum, identifying content gaps to ensure the production of competent graduates.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications: Hold a PhD or a Master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution. (Master's holders registered for a PhD may be considered).
Teaching Experience: At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a university.
Professional Experience: Served as a Lecturer or possess equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the JOOUST Senate.
Professional Registration: Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
Research Potential: Demonstrate strong potential for university teaching and/or research.
