Job Description
Information about the Role\n\nThe successful candidate will join the School of Science and Technology (SST) at United States International University - Africa. Reporting to the Dean, the Lecturer will be responsible for academic instruction, research advancement, and community service within the domains of Machine Learning, Big Data, and Data Science.\n\n### Key Responsibilities and Duties\n\n- Deliver high-quality instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels in specialized areas including Machine Learning and Big Data.\n- Provide mentorship and career guidance to students.\n- Actively participate in curriculum development to ensure programs remain competitive and aligned with industry standards.\n- Conduct program assessments and periodic reviews.\n- Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations at undergraduate and graduate levels.\n- Conduct and publish original research in the lecturer's area of expertise.\n- Contribute to university service, professional bodies, and the wider community.\n- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the School leadership.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n\nTo qualify for this appointment, applicants must meet the following criteria:\n\n\n- An earned PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.\n- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional body.\n\n\n- A Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited university.\n- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience or industrial experience in a relevant field.\n- A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points according to the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014), with at least sixteen (16) points from refereed scholarly journal papers.\n- Evidence of current registration for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent doctoral degree qualification.\n- Registration with a relevant professional body.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested applicants should submit the following documents by Monday, March 09, 2026:\n1.
