Job Description
United States International University - Africa is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Electrical Engineering & Digital Electronics for the School of Science and Technology (SST). The successful candidates will report to the Dean and will be expected to teach, conduct research, and engage in service performance.
Key Responsibilities
Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in the specific areas of specialization as listed above.
Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs are up-to-date and marketable.
Participate in program assessment and reviews.
Supervise students’ research (projects, theses, and dissertations) at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Engage in research within one’s area of expertise.
Engage in service to the University, the profession, and the community.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
To qualify for appointment, an applicant must meet either of the following criteria:
Option 1:
An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university.
Registered or registerable with the relevant professional body.
Option 2:
A Master’s degree in related areas from an accredited university.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching and/or industrial experience in the relevant industry.
A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as per the CUE Standards & Guidelines (2014), of which at least sixteen (16) should be from refereed scholarly journal papers.
Be registered for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or equivalent Doctoral degree qualification.
Be registered with the relevant professional body.
