Role Overview
Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer in Human Geography. The role involves teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, preparing instructional materials, and ensuring quality curriculum delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching: Deliver lectures to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, following the curriculum objectives.
Preparation of Materials: Prepare learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achieve course objectives.
Evaluation & Improvement: Evaluate delivery models and make appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning.
Curriculum Interpretation: Interpret curriculum to synthesize content and disseminate it effectively to learners.
Examination Administration: Set, moderate, invigilate, and mark examinations.
Needs Assessment: Carry out needs assessment for curriculum, identifying content gaps to produce competent graduates.
Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants should hold a PhD or a master's degree qualification in a relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
Possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
Must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.
At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a university.
Master's holders registered for a PhD may be considered.
Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
