Lecturer - Geography

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
• Prepare learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achievement of the objectives of the course.
• Deliver course content to students through lectures, ensuring that they follow curriculum objectives.
• Evaluate delivery models and make appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning.
• Interpret curriculum in a bid to synthesize the content and disseminate the same to the learners.
• Set, moderate, invigilate, and mark examinations.
• Carry out needs assessments for the curriculum and identify content gaps in order to produce competent graduates.

Requirements

• Applicants should hold a PhD or a Master's degree qualification in Geography or a relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
• Possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
• Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.
• At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a university.
• Master's holders registered for a PhD may be considered.
• Be registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
