Lecturer - Economics

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching undergraduate students and/or postgraduate students.
• Preparing learning and teaching materials to enable better delivery of content and achievement of the objectives of the course.
• Delivering the course content to students through lectures, ensuring that they follow the curriculum objectives.
• Evaluating the delivery models and making appropriate improvements to ensure quality teaching and learning.
• Interpreting curriculum in a bid to synthesize the content and disseminate the same to the learners.
• Setting, moderating, invigilating, and marking examinations.
• Carrying out a needs assessment for the curriculum and identifying content gaps in order to produce competent graduates.

Requirements

• Applicants should hold a PhD or a Master's degree qualification in Economics or a relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
• Possess vast teaching or industry experience at undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
• Must have served as a Lecturer or equivalent industry experience in a university or institution recognized by the Senate of JOOUST.
• Demonstrate potential for university teaching and/or research.
• At least two (2) years of teaching experience in a university.
• Master's degree holders registered for a PhD may be considered.
• Registered with the relevant professional body as required by the field of specialization.
