The University of Embu (UoEm) is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent individual for the position of Lecturer in Cyber Security. The role involves teaching, conducting research, and contributing to the academic excellence of the institution.
Job Purpose
The Lecturer will be responsible for delivering academic instructions to students, developing curricula, and engaging in high-level research activities within the Cyber Security domain to enhance the university's academic and research output.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver quality lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Cyber Security and related ICT fields.
Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable, refereed journals.
Participate in the development, review, and improvement of academic programs and curricula.
Attend and actively contribute to learned conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Undertake administrative duties within the department or university as assigned by the Vice-Chancellor or Department Head.
Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a holder of an earned PhD degree from a recognized university in Cyber Security or a relevant area of specialty.
Must have a Master’s degree in addition to a first degree (Bachelor's) from a recognized university in the relevant field.
Show clear evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Provide evidence of continued research activity.
Previous university teaching experience and a track record of publications in refereed journals will be considered a significant added advantage.
