The University of Embu is seeking a qualified Lecturer in Computer Science to join its academic staff. This role is critical for providing high-level teaching, engaging in meaningful research, and contributing to the department's academic growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for lecturing students, conducting scholarly research, and participating in the wider academic community through conferences and professional workshops.
Responsibilities and Duties
Deliver high-quality lectures and tutorials to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Computer Science.
Develop and update course materials and curriculum to reflect current industry and academic trends.
Conduct independent and collaborative research, presenting findings at learned conferences and seminars.
Supervise student research projects, including theses and dissertations.
Contribute to the administrative and academic development of the Department of Computer Science.
Maintain an active profile of research and publications in refereed academic journals.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must be a holder of an earned PhD degree from a recognized university in Computer Science or a relevant area of specialty.
A Master’s degree and a first degree (Bachelor's) from a recognized university in the relevant field.
Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars, or workshops.
Evidence of continued and active research.
University teaching experience and publications in refereed journals will be considered an added advantage.
