We are seeking a Lead Mathematics Teacher in the Senior School to drive academic standards and deliver high-quality instruction. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and preparing courses in accordance with published schemes of work, teaching assigned students, and assessing their progress in line with school policy. This role also involves pastoral care as a Form Tutor and contribution to the wider school community through co-curricular activities.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Produce and annually update a departmental development plan.
Develop and update schemes of work and curriculum documents.
Manage the requirements and demands of public examination courses (IGCSE, A Level, or IB).
Mark and assess the work of potential entrants to the school.
Coordinate transitions from Year 6 to Year 7 with Prep School Curriculum Advisors.
Plan and teach Mathematics to students, setting and marking work and assessments.
Record and report on student development, progress, and attainment.
Maintain regular communication with parents and school leadership regarding student welfare and progress.
Manage departmental equipment, books, and resources, including security and maintenance reporting.
Coordinate departmental trips and contribute to whole-school initiatives like Open Days and assemblies.
Maintain high standards of behavior and safeguard students' health and safety both on and off premises.
Act as a Form Tutor, overseeing morning registration and pastoral progress.
Participate in the school's co-curricular programme, including concerts, sports days, and workshops.
Qualifications and Experience
A good honours degree and a teacher training qualification for the 11 to 18 age range.
Minimum of two years teaching experience (ideally five or more years).
Ability to teach Mathematics up to IGCSE and A Level or IB.
Valid Teacher Services Commission (TSC) Certificate for Kenyan applicants, or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for overseas applicants.
Skilled classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and awareness of teaching methodology.

Remuneration and Terms
The initial contract is for a period of two years, renewable thereafter.
