Job Description
Avenue Hospital was founded in 1995 for the purpose of managing the outpatient department at the Hospital, and to extend medical services to corporate clientele through an innovative concept of Managed Healthcare.
The Laboratory Technologist is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the laboratory through equipment maintenance, accurate billing, and strict adherence to quality control and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain all laboratory equipment in good working condition.
Ensure timely and accurate billing of laboratory services.
Stock management: Conduct daily/spot stock counts of lab supplies and report shortages to the Lab Superintendent.
Ensure proper storage of laboratory supplies.
Ensure that Avenue corporate governance policies are adhered to.
Prevent, detect, and report any fraud or criminal activity.
Fully implement audit recommendations and attain satisfactory ratings in subsequent audits.
Perform daily Internal Quality Control procedures as defined by Avenue Group SOPs.
Follow laid down Lab Board approved rules for the medical lab profession and adhere to Government and respective professional standards of care and treatment of patients.
Requirements
Degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
A valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologist Board (KMLTTB) in Kenya.
