The Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA) is seeking a qualified and dedicated to join its academic team. PUEA is a private university founded in 2007 by the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) and registered with the Commission for University Education (CUE). The successful candidate will provide technical support to ensure laboratories function effectively, assisting both lecturers and students in practical learning environments.
Laboratory Technician
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support: Provide hands-on technical assistance to ensure laboratory classes run smoothly and effectively.
Academic Support: Assist lecturers and students across Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Agriculture practical classes.
Maintenance & Inventory: Manage, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment, materials, and stock levels.
Session Preparation: Prepare practical assignments, materials, and equipment before classes.
Safety Compliance: Enforce laboratory safety protocols and oversee the proper disposal of scientific waste.
Reporting: Prepare regular laboratory status reports and perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science Laboratory Technology or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a science laboratory setting.
Professional Affiliations: Registration with relevant professional bodies.
Quality Assurance: Knowledge of quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, high integrity, and a strong capacity for teamwork.
