Windle International Kenya is seeking a qualified Kiswahili/History Teacher to join its education and training programs. Windle International is a leading provider of education for refugees and communities affected by conflict in East Africa and the Horn of Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student performance, and providing mentorship to students in potentially challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Lesson Delivery: Plan and teach lessons in line with the curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods to support student understanding and engagement.
Assessment and Evaluation: Prepare tests, assignments, and exams; mark and provide feedback; monitor and record students' academic progress.
Classroom Management: Maintain discipline, create a safe and inclusive learning environment, and manage student behavior effectively.
Student Support and Guidance: Mentor and guide students on academic and personal development, identify learning difficulties, and refer cases where necessary.
Professional and Administrative Duties: Attend staff meetings, prepare schemes of work and lesson plans, keep records, communicate with parents/guardians, and participate in school activities.
Job Requirements
Education: A degree in Education from a recognized institution.
Experience: At least two years of post-graduation experience in teaching.
Registration: Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Technical Skills: Mastery of office software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Personal Attributes: Able and willing to live, work, and travel in a fast-paced and insecure environment, adhering to strict security guidelines.
