Summary of Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Perform all professional duties including planning, preparation, and teaching a broad and balanced curriculum.
Conduct marking and assessment, providing constructive feedback and reporting on student progress.
Maintain effective communication with parents regarding children's academic, physical, social, and emotional development.
Provide pastoral care, safeguarding, and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme and support its ethos, aims, and values.
Ensure every child is included and achieves their full potential within a dynamic environment.
Adhere to the School’s Code of Conduct at all times.
Specific Duties
Teaching, Learning, and Assessment
Plan and prepare learning activities in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
Deliver a broad, balanced, and creative education enabling every child to reach their maximum potential.
Teach all students enthusiastically and to a high standard, catering to individual educational needs.
Create a well-managed and stimulating class environment that fosters positive learning.
Integrate digital technology across all areas of the curriculum.
Collaborate with the Year Group team on planning and organization.
Establish and manage strong partnerships with parents/carers.
Mark classwork and homework in accordance with school policies.
Pastoral Care and Wellbeing
Act as a positive role model, incorporating the School’s mission and core values into practice.
Foster the personal, social, and emotional development of students.
Provide guidance to students and parents on educational and social matters.
Maintain high standards of behavior and safeguard health and safety on and off premises.
Other Responsibilities
Contribute to the extra-curricular programme and participate in staff meetings.
Support school events including assemblies, plays, concerts, workshops, and sports days.
Engage in continual self-assessment and stay current with curriculum developments.
Contribute to the cycle of improvement for curriculum schemes of work and resources.
Person Specification
Must be a fully qualified teacher.
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
Valid Teacher Services Commission (TSC) Certificate (for Kenyan applicants) or PGCE/Qualified Teacher Status (for overseas applicants).
Enthusiastic and passionate educator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Team player who is adventurous, adaptable, and excited by new experiences.
Remuneration and Benefits
Initial contract of two years, renewable thereafter.
Remuneration package commensurate with experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
