Our client in the Wines & Spirits Distribution sector is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and results-driven Key Accounts Manager with proven expertise in supplying alcoholic beverages to supermarkets and modern trade outlets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key supermarket accounts, driving sales growth, overseeing product listings, ensuring effective in-store execution, and leading merchandisers and promoters to achieve monthly sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Account Management: Manage and grow key supermarket and modern trade accounts. Handle all supermarket tiers, including hypermarkets.
- Product Listing: List new products with supermarket head offices and launch/promote new brands within supermarkets and modern trade outlets.
- Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with procurement teams and store managers.
- Financials: Follow up on payments and ensure timely collections.
- Sales Performance: Drive achievement of monthly sales targets (individual & team).
- Visibility & Execution: Develop strong visibility and promotional execution in stores. Conduct regular store visits to ensure adequate stock levels, proper product placement and display, and timely order placement.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and guide junior team members including sales merchandisers and promoters. Monitor team performance and ensure delivery of set KPIs.
- Operations: Manage customer inventory levels, oversee order placement, track deliveries, and ensure smooth replenishment processes.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to provide strategic insights to management.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 - 10 years’ sales experience in alcoholic beverages distribution specifically to supermarkets, modern trade outlets, and fuel stations.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of wines and spirits.
- Track Record: Proven experience listing products with supermarket head offices and handling hypermarkets.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, relationship management, leadership, and team management ability.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Licensing: A valid Driving Licence is mandatory.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: KES 80,000 Gross (Depending on Experience)
