The African Development Bank (AfDB) is offering internship opportunities in the field of Agriculture for its 2026 Internship Program (Session 2). The program aims to provide students with the opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience within the Bank while providing the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. Timeline and Terms
Commencement: Session 2 starts in July 2026.
Duration: Between 3 to 6 months. The internship is authorized only once per candidate.
Mode of Work: Can be remote or on-site depending on the needs of the hiring unit. Remote interns are expected to have access to a personal computer, reliable internet, and a conducive working environment.
Stipend: Eligible interns will receive a monthly stipend.
Insurance: Medical insurance coverage is paid by the Bank during the period of the internship.
Travel: On-site interns are responsible for their air travel and upkeep; the Bank will assist in obtaining residence visas.
Fields of Study
The internship is targeted at candidates within the Agriculture Job Family. Special consideration is given to students working on projects that have a direct bearing on the mission of the Bank.
Eligibility Criteria
Must have attained the age of majority and be not more than 30 years old at the time of commencement.
Must be currently enrolled in a Master's level degree program in a recognized educational institution, or have obtained a Master's degree within the last one (1) year.
Must be a national of a member country of the African Development Bank.
Must be fluent in at least one of the Bank's two working languages (English or French).
Proficient in standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); knowledge of SAP is desirable.
