Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) is looking for a qualified Internal Auditor to join its team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the bank's financial and operational activities to ensure they adhere to laws, regulations, and internal policies, while also identifying areas for risk mitigation and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct internal audits within the banking environment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Assess operational risks and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems.
Analyze bank processes and suggest actionable improvements.
Identify risks and verify compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and financial reporting standards.
Work with bank operations and core banking systems using data analysis tools.
Adhere to high ethical standards and compliance policies.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Certifications: Professional Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or its equivalent.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Internal Audit specifically within the Banking Industry.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with banking regulations, AML, financial reporting standards, and bank operations/systems.
Competencies: Excellent analytical skills and high ethical standards.
