About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import cum Export Officer to support and strengthen the company’s international trade and logistics operations. The role involves coordinating import and export processes, managing trade documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory and international trade regulations, tracking shipments, and supporting efficient ordering and shipping activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ensure smooth operations, minimize delays, and maintain accuracy and accountability within the Purchase Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Import/Export Activities: Prepare and verify trade documentation.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to customs and trade regulations.
- Logistics Coordination: Arrange transportation/logistics and track and monitor shipments.
- Cost Management: Calculate and manage shipping costs, duties, taxes, and other related expenses to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions, invoices, permits, and shipment documents.
- Issue Resolution: Resolve shipping and customs issues like delays, damaged goods, missing documents, or customs disputes promptly and professionally.
- Supply Chain Support: Support inventory and supply chain operations.
- Market Monitoring: Monitor market and regulatory changes on trade policies, tariffs, and international market conditions affecting business operations.
Education and Experience Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree with at least 1–3 years’ experience in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field, with knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and logistics coordination.
- Professional certification and relevant experience in international trade operations will be an added advantage.
- At least 2 years’ experience in import and export operations, including customs documentation, shipment coordination, logistics management, and compliance with international trade regulations.
