Job Description
St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, Nyang’oma (SJTTID) is a public institution originally founded in 1965 by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Anna to cater to children who are deaf. The institute is seeking a qualified and proactive ICT System Administrator to oversee and maintain its digital infrastructure.
Role Overview
The ICT System Administrator will be responsible for the reliable performance, security, and maintenance of the institute's technological systems. This includes managing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, supporting the online school portal, and enhancing digital literacy among staff and students.
Duties and Responsibilities
System Administration: Manage and maintain all server and network infrastructure to ensure optimal uptime.
ERP Management: Oversee the administration of the school's ERP (Optimum Systems).
Portal Administration: Manage and maintain the online school portal for student and staff use.
ICT Support: Provide comprehensive hardware and software support and routine maintenance.
Security and Data Protection: Implement and manage robust data protection protocols and cybersecurity measures.
Innovation: Identify and implement system improvements to drive institutional efficiency.
Training: Conduct ICT training sessions and promote digital literacy across the institution.
General Support: Provide technical assistance for all ICT-related institutional activities.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an educational or learning institution.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in ERP systems is highly desirable.
Legal: A valid Certificate of Good Conduct is mandatory.
