Role Overview
The ICT Officer role at the County Government of Nandi involves managing, maintaining, and developing the county's digital infrastructure. The officer is responsible for ensuring that computer systems, networks, and application software are functioning optimally to support public service delivery. This position encompasses technical hardware support, network administration, system development, and staff training within the County Public Service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
System Maintenance: Installation and maintenance of computer systems and associated peripherals.
Networking: Configuration of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).
Software Development: Developing and updating application systems; carrying out systems analysis, design, and programme specifications in liaison with users.
Hardware Support: Carrying out repairs and maintenance of Information Communication Technology equipment.
Procurement Support: Drawing up hardware specifications for ICT equipment and overseeing the process of configuration for new equipment.
Quality Assurance: Verification, validation, and certification of ICT equipment.
Training: Training officers on ICT practices within the County Public Service.
Requirements for Appointment
A degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, or Electronics/Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution.
