GiveDirectly is scaling its emergency response operations to reach more people, faster, with cash in the wake of crises. As a Manager on the Humanitarian team, you will play a critical role in supporting the design and delivery of rapid cash responses globally. You’ll coordinate program implementation, manage day-to-day operations, and contribute to fundraising efforts by documenting field insights and preparing donor materials.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n* Coordinate design, planning, and execution of emergency response operations; apply operational playbooks to rapidly set up programs in new countries; and conduct operational diligence, feasibility, and risk assessments for individual disaster responses.\n* Become an expert in GiveDirectly’s tech systems and processes (Salesforce, CommCare, Jira, etc.) to support project execution and excellence.\n* Manage day-to-day activities of designated responses, including field staff tasking and coordination with surge teams. Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff or surge team members during deployments.\n* Support new business development, donor reporting, or appeal materials by translating field updates into compelling content. Represent GiveDirectly in internal and external forums like Cash Working Groups.\n* Contribute to team goal-setting, impact tracking, and ad hoc strategy projects that advance GiveDirectly’s global response capacity.\n\n### Requirements\n* 3-5+ years of experience in a role focused on problem solving, team management, and/or new business development, including prior humanitarian/emergency experience.\n* BA/BSc/HND qualification.\n* Must be able to travel up to 50-60% of the time, including team retreats and deployments on short notice to potentially insecure areas.\n* Ability to look at problems with an analytical mindset, use frameworks for prioritization, and put structure to ambiguous problems.\n* Strong skills to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize while holding a high quality bar.\n* Strong technical skills, including data analysis and ease with learning new platforms.\n* Skilled in speaking, writing, presenting, and negotiating across multiple stakeholders.\n* Ability to orient in new contexts quickly and enthusiasm for fast-paced environments.\n* Exceptional alignment with GiveDirectly values including emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and fostering inclusivity.\n\n### Nice to Have\n* Fluency in French, Portuguese, Arabic, or other languages.\n* Prior experience with humanitarian cash-based programming.\n\n### Compensation & Benefits (Kenya)\n* $61,900 USD\n* 10% (~$6,190 with potential for upside)\n* $68,090 USD\n* Robust health plan, flexible paid time off, and allowances for desk set-up and professional development.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online via the GiveDirectly Greenhouse job board at or through the application link provided: .
