Role Overview
The Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) specialist provides oversight and leadership to Plan International's child protection response in a specific crisis. You will be responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, coordination, capacity strengthening, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation of child protection in emergency programmes as part of our broader emergency response. You will ensure that gender equality is core to our child protection in emergencies response and that our intervention meets the child protection and gender-based violence minimum standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight: Provide strategic oversight and leadership for child protection responses in specific crisis contexts.
Program Design & Implementation: Responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, and coordination of child protection interventions.
Capacity Building: Strengthen the capacity of staff and partners in the implementation of CPiE programmes.
Monitoring & Evaluation: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of child protection programmes within the broader emergency response.
Gender & Standards: Ensure gender equality is integrated into responses and that interventions meet child protection and gender-based violence minimum standards.
Safeguarding: Ensure safeguarding and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) is at the core of all operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: BA/BSc/HND degree in a relevant field.
Professional Experience: Solid work experience in international humanitarian settings with progressively responsible roles.
Leadership Experience: Proven experience in designing, leading, and/or coordinating Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPHA) programme responses.
Specialized Expertise: Specific expertise in working with child survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV).
Language Skills: Proficiency in English and at least one additional language (French, Spanish, or Arabic) at a minimum of Level B2.
Commitment: Strong commitment to safeguarding and PSEAH principles.
