Human Resource Officer

Kongoni Technical and Vocational College is a Ministry of Education institution located in Likuyani, Kakamega County, training the next generation of engineers, technicians, and entrepreneurs. The college is seeking a qualified and motivated Human Resource Officer to manage HR policies, staff recruitment, payroll administration, employee relations, and oversee administrative service areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop human resource planning policies and procedures.
• Advise the Board of Governors (BOG) on HR policy matters.
• Act as the link between management and the union on labor relations.
• Oversee HR training and development across departments.
• Supervise administrative service areas including catering, boarding, secretarial services, and transport.
• Oversee recruitment and appointment of staff.
• Manage and update the payroll and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Handle staff discipline, grievances, and welfare.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management.
• Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Computer literate.
• Meet Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya requirements.
