Braeside Lavington School, a member of the Braeburn Schools group, is seeking a qualified and passionate History and Sociology Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) to Key Stage 5 (KS5).
Role Overview
Braeburn Schools provide world-class teaching of the British National Curriculum and GCE A-Levels. This role involves nurturing personal growth and celebrating diversity within a friendly and supportive educational environment. The teacher will be expected to deliver engaging lessons that align with the British International Curriculum standards, particularly preparing students for advanced examinations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in History and Sociology to students from KS3 to KS5.
Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
Prepare students for external examinations, particularly at the GCE A-Level (KS5) level.
Maintain a supportive, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
Participate in departmental and school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development sessions.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a holistic educational experience for all learners.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A minimum academic qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a specialization in History and Sociology.
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Curriculum Experience: Proven experience teaching the British International Curriculum is essential. Specific expertise and a track record in teaching Key Stage 5 (KS5) is highly desirable.
Referees: Access to professional referees, including a current Headteacher.
