Job Description
Nyumbani Village is seeking a Health Records and Information Officer to be based at the COGRI-Head Office in Karen. The role is focused on managing laboratory information systems and maintaining the associated ICT infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure data integrity, system security, and compliance with laboratory standards while providing support and training to users to maintain high reliability and system uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Systems Management and Maintenance: Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of laboratory information systems to ensure they function optimally.
Laboratory ICT Assets Maintenance: Manage and maintain all ICT hardware and assets specific to the laboratory department.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all systems and records management practices comply with established laboratory and healthcare standards.
Data Integrity and Security: Implement and monitor protocols for database management and network security to safeguard sensitive health information.
Support and Training: Provide technical support to staff and conduct training sessions to ensure effective use of laboratory information systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Health Records & Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Possession of relevant IT professional certifications.
In-depth knowledge of laboratory standards and laboratory information systems (LIS).
Technical proficiency in database management, network security, and system integration.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to train others effectively.
Demonstrated ability to maintain system uptime and operational reliability.
