Role Overview
The Head of Visual and Performing Arts is responsible for leading the successful delivery of the Arts and the Performing Arts across the school. The role aims to inspire students, engage them in artistic expression, and display their work to the community while leading a dedicated faculty team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the successful delivery of the Arts and Performing Arts across the school.
Ensure students are actively engaged in the performing arts and display their works to parents regularly.
Inspire and enthuse the team with a clear vision for the direction of the Performing Arts Faculty.
Develop an innovative and progressive curriculum in Performing Arts.
Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks within the faculty to ensure high standards.
Safeguard students by ensuring all Health and Safety aspects are adhered to in lessons and preparation areas.
Lead the development of differentiated schemes of work to ensure every student makes progress.
Stay up-to-date with subject developments and participate in relevant CPD.
Lead strategic planning and self-evaluation processes for the Faculty.
Provide regular reports on student performance based on data and plan effective interventions.
Promote and lead the delivery of all extra-curricular activities in Performing Arts.
Act as a role model, demonstrating high standards of professionalism in leadership.
Coordinate Faculty resources and provide guidance to staff.
Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Develop contacts with national and international artists, producers, and directors for high-quality school productions.
Act as lead producer on specifically identified productions and initiatives.
Work with the Marketing and Communication Department to attract audiences and deliver press campaigns for the performing arts program.
Supply up-to-date information for marketing and press materials.
Flag creative campaign ideas to the Marketing and Communication Department to enhance the program's profile.
Perform other tasks as assigned by school management.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in leading successful extra-curricular activities and performance.
Ability to communicate effectively with school stakeholders (parents, colleagues, external partners).
High sense of teamwork and professional behavior.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information.
Ethical conduct and excellent communication skills.
