About the Role
A leading multinational is seeking a Head of Modern Trade & eCommerce to accelerate growth in organised trade and digital commerce across East Africa. You will be responsible for developing and executing customer strategies, managing P&L, and optimising category strategies within the Modern Trade channel. This role sits on the Customer Development Leadership Team and contributes to the overall strategic direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of annual business plan process for Modern Trade
- Develop and execute customer business plans and category strategies
- Negotiate trade terms and manage customer investments
- Manage P&L for customers and channel overall
- Conduct customer business plan reviews, adjusting as needed
- Champion shopper insights and optimise promotional sell-out
- Act as ambassador between customers and the organisation
- Train and develop key account executives, ensuring team deliverables are met
- Accelerate Modern Trade growth through promotions, visibility, and innovation plans
- Lead S&OP process for Modern Trade, leveraging market intelligence
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Account Management/Field Sales at management level
- International account management experience preferred
- Strong business acumen and customer relationship management skills
- Proven ability to develop and implement customer/channel business plans
- Experience in optimizing promotional sell-out and leveraging shopper insight
- BA/BSc/HND qualification
