Kivukoni School is a young school, open since January 2011, which has constantly grown and developed to create a unique learning environment for children. We are seeking a dedicated Head of Maths who will also serve as a Physics Teacher. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of innovative curricula and teaching strategies for the IGCSE program while maintaining a culture of academic excellence and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative curriculum and teaching strategies for the IGCSE program (and possibly A Level) for Maths and Physics.
- Oversee assessment and examination processes.
- Monitor, evaluate, and provide guidance and support to teaching staff.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities.
- Teach Maths (and ideally Physics) as relevant, with a maximum of 20 contact hours per week.
- Serve as a class tutor.
- Review and enhance the IGCSE timetable and continuity of provision throughout the school.
- Monitor and track student progress and implement interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with school management to align the IGCSE program with the school’s strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and continuous improvement within the academic staff and student body.
Qualifications & Skills
- B. Ed Mathematics/ Physics, Post-Graduate or Degree in Education.
- Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- 5+ Years in an International School System.
- 3+ Years in Key Stage 4 British Curriculum.
- Demonstrable track record of excellent teaching practice.
- Academic leadership experience.
- Excellent team building and communication skills.
- A clear determination and desire to develop professionally.
- Strong understanding of CAT4 Assessments is considered an advantage.
