Role Overview
The Head of Kindergarten is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the early years educational program. The role focuses on nurturing and guiding children aged 2-6, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with both Cambridge International (CI) and Competency Based Education (CBE) pathways. The successful candidate will lead a team of educators to maintain a high-performing academic environment and facilitate smooth transitions for learners moving into Primary School.
Responsibilities
Provide instructional leadership and mentorship to the kindergarten teaching staff.
Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and assessment strategies.
Ensure learning outcomes are aligned with Cambridge International Early Years and CBE frameworks.
Manage and facilitate the transition process for learners from Kindergarten to Primary School.
Foster strong relationships with parents and handle engagement regarding child development and academic progress.
Maintain high standards of professional excellence and integrity within the department.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in ECDE or Education (Early Years Specialization).
Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Training or Certification in Cambridge International Early Years or CBE.
A Master’s Degree in Education or Educational Leadership is considered an added advantage.
Minimum 8 years of teaching experience specifically in Early Years Education.
At least 3 years of experience in a school leadership or management role.
Proven experience working in a high-performing academic environment.
