Tatu is a project of Rendeavour, Africa’s largest urban land developer with over 30,000 acres of visionary projects in the growth trajectories of large cities in Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Rendeavour’s vision goes beyond alleviating stifling urban congestion and a dearth of quality housing; it aims to create the infrastructure—living spaces, communities, schools, and hospitals—that sustain and accelerate Africa’s economic growth. As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and reporting for all Tatu City projects in Kenya, leading the finance team, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Manage the finance team for all projects in Kenya, providing leadership, guidance, and support.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Develop and implement strategies to monitor, measure, and mitigate liquidity risk exposure across the organization.
Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during annual audits and regulatory examinations.
Assist department heads and senior management in developing annual budgets and monitor budget performance.
Prepare regular forecasts and provide financial insights on trends, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
Manage cash flow and liquidity by monitoring balances, forecasting needs, and optimizing resources.
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
Develop automated reporting/forecasting tools to increase productivity and efficiency.
Recruit, train, and develop accounting staff to foster a high-performance work environment.
Ensure procurement is conducted in line with the company's Governance Handbook.
Review financial transactions and identify weekly payments for CFO and Country Head review.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
A master's degree is highly preferred.
At least 10 years of experience in finance and accounting.
A minimum of five years' experience in a Senior management position.
Professional qualification in CPA or ACCA is required.
