Role Overview\n\nThe Head, Business Origination & Corporate Service at KCB Bank Kenya is responsible for developing and leading the implementation of credit origination and corporate service strategies in line with the overall Corporate Banking and KCB Group strategy. The role focuses on evaluating credit appetite, structures, and risk-return relationships while ensuring sound judgment in credit decisions. The role holder will also oversee compliance, anti-money laundering (AML) efforts, and support relationship managers in delivering world-class service to corporate clients.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n* Strategy Implementation: Develop and lead the implementation of credit origination and corporate service strategies aligned with KCB Group goals.\n* Credit Evaluation: Assess credit appetite, including structure appropriateness, tenor, risk versus return relationships, and the effectiveness of risk mitigants.\n* Decision Making: Deliver well-thought-out credit decisions showing sound judgment for applications within delegated sanctioning authority.\n* Risk Analysis: Analyze credit applications to ensure risk is aligned with the Bank's Credit Appetite relative to deal profitability.\n* Portfolio Management: Identify and manage high-risk accounts and undertake necessary corrective actions when risk profiles become unacceptable.\n* Regional Oversight: Provide oversight of performance for facilities booked in Kenya from other KCB Group subsidiaries to ensure they remain performing.\n* Covenant Monitoring: Ensure all approved covenants are tracked according to approval terms and present applications to relevant credit committees.\n* Compliance & AML: Oversee the implementation and adoption of Compliance, AML, and Sanctions requirements within Corporate Credit, including enhanced due diligence for onboarding.\n* Business Support: Assist relationship managers in negotiating term sheets, deal structures, and covenants to conform to credit requirements.\n* Customer Service Excellence: Champion consistent, seamless, and trusted customer service to ensure retention and loyalty, spearheading service delivery improvements.\n\n### Requirements\n\n* Academic: A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution is required.\n* Professional Certification: A Certificate in Commercial Credit is required.\n* Professional Qualifications: Qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CFA, or AKIB are an added advantage.\n* Advanced Education: A Master's Degree in Finance or a business-related field is an added advantage.\n* Experience: A total minimum of 10 years of professional experience in banking or finance is required.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the KCB Bank career portal at https://www.myjobmag.co.ke/apply-now/1158657.
