The GSM Engineer performs maintenance and operations activities within the assigned area, ensuring the quality and continuity of the services as per the set KPIs, within the budgeted costs. The engineer will execute and follow up on network extensions, as well as detect and warn of dysfunctions in network elements.
Key Responsibilities
Corrective Maintenance: Attend to equipment faults logged through the trouble ticket (TT) system in compliance with corrective maintenance KPIs.
Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive routine maintenance to ensure consistent equipment and environmental health checks. Accurately carry out the preventive maintenance program and write report updates.
Support Coordination: Work in coordination with Support and Network Management Center (NMC) teams while analyzing fault incidents to ensure accurate and timely correction, and ensure clears are confirmed and communicated.
Network Improvements: Propose improvement actions for the network structure.
Site Commissioning: Jointly perform new site commissioning tests with equipment vendors and only accept links/sites that qualify under criteria set in engineering standards and equipment factory specifications.
Reporting: Compile and submit reports on all maintenance-related matters and attend daily evaluation meetings.
Root Cause Analysis: Establish and show the cause of link failure by filling in the reason for outage (RCA) form and produce evidence when requested.

Ensure network availability of >99.60%.
Achieve 80% of TTs within SLA.
Ensure network quality with packet loss of <0.05%.
Achieve 90% of planned work the first time.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
Lean Six Sigma – Yellow Belt.
CCNA Certification.
Valid Driving License.
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in transmission network maintenance.
Competencies and Skills
Technical Competencies: Network Management Systems, Radio rigging, knowledge of GSM 2G/3G/4G architecture, good understanding of BSS/transmission technology, Microsoft Office, and troubleshooting.
