Amentum is a global leader in designing, engineering, and modernizing critical systems and programs of national importance across defense, security, intelligence, energy, and the environment. We are seeking a Graphic Artist to provide comprehensive arts, graphic, and media printing services to meet customer requests and deliver high-quality personalized products. This role specifically supports the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) operations by providing marketing solutions that enhance operational visibility and engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design & Production: Provide comprehensive arts, graphic, and media printing services including custom T-shirts, sports uniforms, and engraving brass trophy/plaque plates.
- Client Collaboration: Work directly with customers to receive and interpret design orders, ensuring services are performed accurately and professionally.
- Technical Execution: Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and other graphic tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW) to create unique and customized work.
- Marketing & Outreach: Produce a monthly color MWR Newsletter to market and advertise scheduled events, clubs, snack bars, and other MWR operations; ensure government review and approval prior to distribution.
- Media Integration: Create and submit timely input concerning recreational events to various platforms including Plan of the Day, Tropical Times, and Naval Media Center.
- Compliance: Ensure all printed and distributed materials align with branding, formatting, and content standards for MWR marketing and Navy regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain printing, engraving, and graphic design equipment to provide high-quality outputs.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records of customer orders, transactions, and activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in graphic design, media production, or arts-related fields.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or formal education (NCE, Professional Certificate) in graphic design, arts, or marketing is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software and design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or equivalent programs.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience operating printing machines, engravers, and other graphic media production equipment.
- Competencies: Strong understanding of marketing and graphic design principles (layout, typography, and branding); excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Office Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Travel & Compliance: Must possess a valid passport (valid for minimum 1 year at time of hire) and be able to travel internationally. Must pass contract medical requirements for deployment.
- Authorization: Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Valid country driver’s license.
- Prior experience creating designs for government, military, or MWR-related programs.
- Knowledge of Navy regulations, branding, and marketing guidelines.
