The Graduate WASH Intern will work closely with the Regional Program WASH Director and the Regional WASH Infrastructure Specialist for East Africa, supporting the implementation of the WASH Program across 9 countries (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda). This 12-month talent incubation programme aims to provide young Christian graduates with hands-on work experience, personal, spiritual, and professional development through on-the-job mentorship and coaching.
Key Responsibilities
Support the WASH program in the implementation of the WASH Business plan in 9 countries (Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, and Uganda).
Support the WASH Program in Resource Acquisition and Development through development of marketing materials from different country offices.
Support in the development of communication and social media documentation materials for WASH and WASH conferences.
Monitor and support Risk management and mitigation for WASH projects in collaboration with the Regional Risk management officer.
Provide support in the development, adaptation, and scaling up of project models and approaches that contribute to specific child well-being outcomes.
Support field offices in Water Tracking and data validation, especially on the culture of quality.
Strengthen the WASH community of practice (CoP) in EAR through the establishment and running of the regional chapter.
Carry out additional responsibilities as may be required.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Water and Sanitation, or related fields.
Must be registered with a professional practicing body in the field of specialization.
Graduated within the last two years.
Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge in Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Knowledge on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
Ability to design using Computer Aided Programs such as AutoCAD, GIS, Water CAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project.
Knowledge in mWater combined with GIS will be an added advantage.
