Job Description
Nandi County is seeking a Geospatial Data Management Officer to join its team. This role is crucial for managing, analyzing, and maintaining geospatial datasets that support informed decision-making and planning across various county departments. The officer will ensure the integrity of spatial data and provide mapping and spatial analysis services.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the county's geospatial databases and spatial datasets.
Perform complex spatial data analysis to support urban planning, resource management, and other county projects.
Create high-quality maps, charts, and visualizations for stakeholders and decision-makers.
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of all spatial data within the county systems.
Collaborate with various departments to integrate GIS technologies into their operational workflows.
Provide technical support and guidance on geospatial matters to relevant county staff.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems, Geography, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Must be a registered member in good standing of a relevant professional body.
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to spatial data.
