Job Description
Avenue Hospital was founded in 1995 for the purpose of managing the outpatient department at the Hospital, and to extend medical services to corporate clientele through an innovative concept of Managed Healthcare. The General Nurse - Special Clinic will work closely with the Clinical team to navigate patients through their treatment journey, helping to address underlying medical conditions and providing treatment as per the established plan.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Navigation: Work with the Clinical team to navigate patients through the treatment journey, addressing underlying medical conditions and providing treatment as per the care plan.
Protocol Adherence: Ensure all nursing protocols are administered according to set-out policies and guidelines.
Incident Reporting: Record and report all sentinel incidents/events within 24 hours using the provided tools.
Patient Monitoring: Constantly monitor, assess, and chart a patient's condition and response to treatment and medication, including physical and psycho-social status, adjusting treatment accordingly.
Drug Management: Ensure proper and effective drug administration and management as per policy and procedures.
Admissions and Handover: Actively participate in patient admissions, receive handover reports from outgoing nurses on shift, and ensure relevant consultants have explained procedures and obtained necessary consent.
Data Management: Effectively and confidentially manage patient data and records.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: BSc in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing (KRCHN).
Licensing: A valid Nursing License from the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
Certifications: Updated certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
Experience: 2+ years’ experience working in a busy clinical environment.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, team playing abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Attributes: Customer focus, results-oriented, highly responsive, ethical, and responsible.
