The Fundraising & Institutional Partnership Development Lead role at ActionAid Kenya is vital for driving sustainable resource mobilisation and strengthening strategic partnerships in support of the organization's mission and Country Strategy. We are looking for a strategic and values-driven fundraising leader passionate about advancing social justice, gender equality, and the rights of people living in poverty and exclusion. This role calls for a bold and collaborative leader with a strong track record in institutional fundraising and donor engagement.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Build and deepen relationships with institutional donors, corporates, trusts, and foundations.
- Play a critical role in positioning ActionAid Kenya as a trusted partner of choice.
- Align fundraising strategies with our feminist, human rights–based approach and the lived realities of the communities we work with.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team, country, regional, and international colleagues across the ActionAid Federation to deliver on ambitious funding targets and donor stewardship objectives.
- Provide leadership on local voluntary fundraising.
- Guide strategic communications tailored for fundraising purposes.
- Ensure coherence and collaboration across fundraising teams.
- Contribute to organisational decision-making as a values-led leader.
- Strengthen systems and partnerships that promote accountability and transparency.
- Support ActionAid Kenya’s long-term financial sustainability.
- Champion feminist leadership, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring resource mobilization efforts meaningfully contribute to transformative and lasting social justice impact.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- BA/BSc/HND qualification.
- Must be a strategic thinker and skilled relationship builder.
- A strong track record in institutional fundraising and donor engagement is required.
- Experience in strategic leadership and collaboration across country, regional, and international teams.
- Passion for advancing social justice, gender equality, and the rights of people living in poverty and exclusion.
- Demonstrated ability to build and deepen relationships with institutional donors, corporates, trusts, and foundations.
