The FTTH Project Assistant is responsible for managing assigned Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects to ensure successful delivery. The role focuses on enhancing value and benefit realization while adhering to approved time, cost, and quality baselines. This position operates under the professional guidance of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology, covering all phases of project management: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Control, and Closure.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling: Liaise with Planning and Retail teams to manage FTTH project plans according to designs, including scheduling, risk identification, and resource allocation.
Methodology Implementation: Apply practical knowledge of the Project Implementation Process (PIP) methodology to all project stages.
Stakeholder Management: Formulate and manage detailed stakeholder communication plans. Identify influence levels and facilitate project meetings to monitor tasks, risks, and challenges.
Procurement Coordination: Proactively coordinate with the procurement department to account for lead times in the delivery of equipment and fiber optic materials.
Risk Mitigation: Analyze project vulnerabilities and develop solutions to overcome shortfalls through regular risk reviews and corrective action deployment.
Internal & External Liaison: Manage working relationships across internal departments (Legal, Finance, Procurement) and external entities (Local communities, property owners, and suppliers).
Team & Vendor Management: Oversee delivery teams and manage sub-contractor/vendor deliverables to ensure they align with contract terms and project objectives.
Handover & Operations: Ensure appropriate transition processes are established for a successful handover from the project team to operations management.
Reporting: Prepare weekly project implementation reports for internal clients (Account Managers and Management) and provide daily updates to external clients. Submit monthly reports on project progress versus billing schedules.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or Project Management and Planning.
Alternative Education: Higher Diploma with at least 3 years of experience.
Experience: 2-3 years of professional experience within the project management industry.
Personal Attributes: Proactive initiative, self-motivated, team player, amiable, conscientious, and a strong decision-maker.
