The French Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction within this structured framework.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery: Teach using provided lesson plans and the SABIS® point system. Develop plans based on pacing charts as needed.
Assessment and Grading: Mark exams in accordance with the schedule and materials provided by the department.
Academic Coordination: Discuss student performance and disciplinary issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD).
Classroom Management: Implement the SABIS® point system to maintain a productive learning environment.
Exam Supervision: Support the school by invigilating exams and ensuring a properly managed testing environment.
Student Support: Provide academic assistance to low-performing students to help them improve and reach their potential.
External Exam Preparation: Guide students through external exam prep using past papers and structured revision schedules where applicable.
School Duties: Assist in administrative tasks such as testing students, substituting for absent colleagues, and supervising student activities (lunches, buses, traffic control).
Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in and prepare activity plans for student life events like art fairs, open houses, and physical education.
Professional Development: Attend mandatory training sessions to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in French, Education, or a related subject matter.
Certifications: PGCE Certification or an MA in Education is mandatory.
Language Proficiency: Must be a Native French Speaker.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office components.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
