The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new food products, improving existing formulations, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. The role supports innovation, product consistency, and regulatory adherence within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and test new food products, formulations, and processes.
Maintain existing products in terms of taste, quality, texture, and shelf life.
Conduct laboratory analysis and trials to ensure product safety and compliance.
Ensure adherence to local and international food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
Work closely with production teams to scale up formulations from lab to factory level.
Monitor raw materials and finished products for quality consistency and cost efficiency.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and product specifications.
Support regulatory submissions and ensure compliance with relevant authorities.
Investigate and resolve product quality issues or customer complaints.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, marketing, and Finance.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
Background in the flour industry is a definite added advantage.
Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or GMP.
Experience in product development and quality control processes.
Basic baking/frying skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and food testing methods.
