We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to lead our financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, statutory compliance, and robust internal controls within a manufacturing context.
Role Overview
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire finance function, from day-to-day accounting and payroll to high-level financial reporting and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing environments and a strong grasp of Kenyan tax laws.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting. Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports and management information reports.
Operations Management: Maintain accurate financial records in Tally and support improvements in finance processes. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and follow-up of outstanding balances.
Cash & Banking: Manage bank reconciliations, routine cashbook control, and general financial housekeeping.
Statutory Compliance: Prepare and process statutory returns including PAYE, VAT, SHIF, NSSF, and other applicable filings, ensuring timely submission.
Audit & Internal Controls: Support audit readiness by maintaining schedules, reconciliations, and proper documentation for internal and external review. Contribute to the improvement of internal controls and reporting discipline.
Procurement & Payroll: Provide financial control over procurement transactions, ensuring cost control and policy compliance. Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Inventory Management: Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances. Support basic margin and costing analysis.
Leadership: Supervise and guide the Accounts Assistant in day-to-day finance operations.
Key Deliverables
Timely month-end close and accurate monthly financial reports.
Up-to-date statutory filings and remittances.
Clean and complete reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
Accurate payroll processing and improved control environment.
Well-maintained audit support schedules and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
5–7 years’ relevant finance experience.
Strong working knowledge of IFRS, IAS, and Kenyan tax/statutory requirements.
Experience in manufacturing is required.
Exposure to inventory-heavy environments is preferred.
Exposure to EPZ/export businesses will be an added advantage.
