The County Assembly of Bungoma is seeking four (4) interns to join the Budget Office. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Budget Office in budget analysis, public finance oversight, and monitoring of county fiscal management in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act and the County Governments Act. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in public finance within a legislative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Budget Office in comprehensive budget analysis and fiscal document reviews.
Assist in monitoring county fiscal management to ensure compliance with legal frameworks.
Contribute to public finance oversight activities conducted by the County Assembly.
Use data analysis software (MS Excel, SPSS, etc.) to process and interpret fiscal data.
Assist in the preparation of reports related to county budgeting and financial oversight.
Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor to support the department's objectives.
Requirements and Qualifications
Nationality: Must be a Kenyan citizen.
Age: Between 18 and 35 years.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Public Finance Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Graduation Status: Must have successfully completed studies within the last two (2) years.
Technical Skills: Computer literacy is mandatory, specifically proficiency in MS Excel, SPSS, or other data analysis software.
Knowledge: A basic understanding of Kenya's public finance management frameworks and county government budgeting processes is considered an added advantage.
Documentation: A mandatory recommendation or introduction letter from the applicant's institution of learning is required.
